Career Support That Makes a Difference
Through Career Collab, a partnership with Northbrook, Vernon Area and Glenview public libraries, Indian Trails offers free career coaching and resume review sessions. Veterans and job seekers can receive expert guidance on:
- Optimizing resumes for applicant tracking systems
- Interview preparation
- LinkedIn profile updates
- Personal branding and job search strategies

One-On-One Appointments: Personalized Help
Library staff are available for free one-hour appointments to assist with:
- Business resources
- Genealogy and local history
- Borrowing e-books and e-audiobooks
- Using library online resources
- Basic tablet (iPad, Kindle Fire, Samsung Galaxy)
- Basic social networks (Facebook, X, Pinterest, etc.)
- Referral services to companies, online and/or print resources, or upcoming library classes for more advanced requests
- Homebound assistance (looking to chat about books/movies with a staff member)

Veterans interested in tracing their family history can schedule a Genealogy 1-on-1 session to explore their roots and preserve their legacy.
Reaching Those Who Can’t Come To Us
For veterans and community members with mobility challenges, the Homebound Mailing Service delivers books, movies, and more directly to their door. Items are mailed monthly or bi-monthly, with no late fees — just a love of reading and connection.
The library also visits local senior living communities including Belmont Village, Wheeling Towers, and Addolorata Villa, bringing materials and conversation to residents.
Serving In Spanish At The Main Library, Prospect Heights Branch
Spanish-speaking staff offer individual assistance on technology, library resources and more. Veterans and community members can walk in or schedule an appointment at the Branch by calling 847.459.4101 or emailing branch@indiantrailslibrary.org.
The Branch is located at 99 E. Palatine Rd., Prospect Heights. It is a vibrant space with a community feel, located behind the McDonald’s, north of Palatine Road. The Branch houses a diverse collection of popular books, movies and more in English and Spanish.
