Mobility Devices

Electric scooters are available for members while in the library and can be requested from any staff member.

Sensory Items

Sensory items are available in each programming room. These items include stress balls, fidget spinners, and other small, tactile manipulatives, designed to help individuals stay focused and engaged during programs or activities that require extended periods of attention. For all ages.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome in the library.


Borrow a Device

A variety of e-readers, iPads, Roku and Wifi hotspots are available for check-out at the Adult Services desk. ITPLD cardholders only. Call 847.459.4100, ext. 3.

Favorite Author Network (Fan) Club for Adults

Homebound Mailing Service
Members who are unable to visit the library due to a temporary or permanent disability or illness may request to receive items from the library through the U.S. Postal Service. ITPLD Cardholders only. More info is available here.

Low Vision Services 
Staff will assist members in obtaining services and materials through the Talking Book and Braille Services (TBBS). Popular books and magazines that have been reproduced in braille or audio formats may be ordered free of charge by persons who qualify for the service. See more information here.

Program Accommodation Requests

Members requesting accommodation (including American Sign Language interpretation for programs) should indicate the request when registering for the program, calling the library at 847.459.4100 ext. 312 or by contacting the Access Coordinator at at least 5 days prior to the program

Grievance Procedure

This Grievance Procedure is established to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”).  It may be used by anyone who wishes to file a complaint alleging discrimination on the basis of disability in the provision of services, activities, programs, or benefits by the Indian Trails Public Library District.
