Some services at the Indian Trails Public Library District facilities in Wheeling and Prospect Heights will be unavailable next weekend because the collections of two other libraries are being added to the industry consortium of which Indian Trails is a member.
Starting about 9 p.m. Friday, online checkouts won’t be available and patrons won’t be allowed to put holds on materials online or in person. Additionally, people will need to use their library cards to check out materials. No other IDs or bar codes will work.
Automated return stations won’t be available. Electronic items should be returned to the adult services desk. Other items can be returned inside the library or at an outdoor dropbox.
Also, study rooms will be available on a first-come, first-served basis rather than through the usual reservation system.
Services should return to normal by noon October 1.
