Teen Artist In Residence

The library is excited to offer the Teen Artist-in-Residence program for January-April of 2027. Applications are open Sunday, November 1-Monday, November 30. Are you an artistic student in Grades 9-12? Do you like sharing your love of creating art with others? Apply for Indian Trails Public Library District’s Teen Artist-in-Residence program.

We’ll select up to 4 artists and help facilitate their existing practice as they make a piece for temporary display at the library. 2D artists of various drawing and painting mediums, including digital, are welcome to apply. 

In addition to technical mentorship, students will learn about professional practices, such as artist statements, project proposals and documentation. This experience is valuable for any teenager looking to apply to art schools or pursue artistic careers. 

Selected residents will meet on Friday evenings from January 15 to March 12 and will also participate in a reception in their honor on April 2. Please apply only if you can commit to attending most sessions. Preference will be given to members who reside in the library’s district. 

Learn more about the Launch Pad

The Launch Pad is ITPLD’s makerspace and the hub of creativity at the library. Our space has been here since the library was remodeled in 2017. We house a lot of equipment perfect for creating new art, including an Epilog Mini laser cutter, Silhouette Cameo vinyl cutter, digital embroidery machine, 3D printers, sewing machines, and a CNC machine. We also provide access to the entire Adobe Creative Cloud.
