Start your summer off with a sizzle and join us at the table for this summer’s library adventure at Indian Trails Public Library District. The main library will host a kick-off event Saturday, June 10, from 10:30 am-2 pm. This event marks the beginning of a 2-month program aimed at strengthening literacy skills for students during summer break, while also welcoming all ages who have a love for reading or want to dive into the practice of reading.

JIM GILL SING-A-THON, cookie decorating, photo booth

Join us for an exciting lineup of activities, including a special performance by musician Jim Gill. Jim will create a cozy and family-friendly atmosphere, encouraging children, parents, and grandparents to sing, dance and play together. After the show, enjoy cookie decorating or strike a pose in a photo booth with your favorite props and receive a special photo strip as a souvenir to take home (while supplies last).

RECIPE SHARE

As part of the festivities, we invite you to bring your favorite recipe to be digitized and shared with the community through our portable Story Cube. Your recipe should include the ingredients, instructions and a favorite memory or tradition associated with it. Take the opportunity to print out a surprise recipe to inspire your own cooking adventure at home. The Story Cube is on the second floor in adult services.

COMMUNITY ART PROJECT

Don’t miss the chance to participate in a culinary-inspired community art project at the Launch Pad. Your artwork will contribute to a larger mural located in the main library. It’s a creative and engaging activity for all ages.

KICK-OFF AT THE BRANCH

For those visiting the Branch on Saturday, June 10, indulge in an ice cream sundae and engage in crafts and balloon animals, available from 10:30 am-12:30 pm (while supplies last).
