Library Cards
Residents of the Indian Trails Public Library District must have a valid library card in order to borrow materials from the bookmobile. Residents can register for a library card at any stop. Patrons who have a card from the main library do not need to register for another card. The initial borrower's card is free. A $1.00 fee is charged for replacement cards.
Library cards issued from member libraries of the North Suburban Library System are also honored. There may be certain restrictions on borrowing by out-of-district patrons. Patrons must register and show proof of permanent address. Acceptable forms of identification include driver's license, checks, mail received, or anything that shows a current local address.
Cards are issued to children 5 (entering Kindergarten in the Fall) to 15 years of age. A parent or legal guardian must show proof of a permanent address as listed above and must sign the registration form. The child and parent must be present to sign the registration form.
Owners of businesses located within the Indian Trails Public Library District are also entitled to a business borrower's card. Institutional cards are available to schools and other organizations located within the Indian Trails Public Library District. A single card will be issued to a business, institution, school, or agency (nursing home, day care center, etc.) that wishes to borrow materials. Businesses and institutions are responsible for all materials checked out, and any fines or fees for materials in possession of its employees, patrons, clients, patients, residents, etc.
